Shadow and Reflection
Shadow-
When capturing the shadow pictures, I was inside my house at night and had someone shine a light against objects so I was able to capture the shadows of the objects. The majority of my shadow pictures show a great discreption between the positive and negative space, especially with the pictures in black and white. In the first two photos, i switched between "the flower setting" or the focus setting to swtich between have the shadow and "A" be in the focus and having the keychains in the background be in focus. In the majority of the rest of the pictures i tried to capture a small portion of the actual object and have the shadow of the object be the main thing to be viewing in the photograph. I feel like I added in the idea of lines or shapes with the picture of the castle because of all the sharp lines in that photo. Also I feel like there was some amount of texture included in the picture of the tree's shadow. I feel like havinng the photos in black and white did add an aspect of mystery or creepiness to the photos, but my favorite is of the picture of the christmas caroler, the middle one in the second row. I feel like this photo is especially creepy because you can see the slight face of what looks like a person and you can't quite figure out what it is.
Reflection-
For the portion of my project which was reflection, I took the first two photos in class and I took the other photo outside the school reflecting on the window. In the first reflection picture I am capturing the reflection of Dave's phone case against three different mirrors, two sides and then below. I decided to get the object and the reflections in the photo so that you were able to see the outside of the case and so that you could see all four and not get myself in the shot also. The second photo is of a rubber can or bottle opener again reflected again the three mirrors expect this time I added another smaller mirror which was able to show the object from the bottom, giving the full object through reflections. I feel like adding the fourth mirror I was able to capture another aspect or view of the object which gave it an interesting twist and since it's smaller i can also get the other reflections around it. For the last picture, i was capturing the sunset reflecting in a window at the school. I enjoyed how you could see the colors of the sunset and cars in the parking lot but were still able to see the blinds and see into the room a little.
