Pattern, Texture and Rhythm
For this assignment I was pretty much split between taking photos of things that were manmade and things that were natural. Photos 3, 7 and 8 were photos of things that were manmade; but the rest of the photos were of things that were natural, like hay, corn stalks or palms. My first photo, as well as my fifth and ninth photos, are pictures of a palm that I received at church last year and has twisted and dried in my room. I was fairly close up, looking slightly down at the palm when i took these photos, but I almost edited the photos to crop it so that I would cut out the background of my rug so that it wouldn't take away from the palm itself. The second picture is off my pumpkin i picked in-between two piles of hay. I was about 3 feet when i took this photo, looking from above. In this picture the rule of thirds could be incorporated by saying the hay then the pumpkin then the hay again would be three different parts to the photograph. The third photograph is the girls cheerleading tape in the old auditorium. I was fairly close when taking this picture and was looking down on the roll of tape. The entire frame is filled by the roll of the tape. The next photo, the fourth, is a picture with a frame completely filled by an enourmous pile of hay. I was farther away when taking this photo but was looking straight-on at the pile. The sixth photo is of a corn stalk field with the rows of corn stalks. I was pretty far away but I was looking straight-on at the corn stalks when I took this photograph. This seventh photograph is of the floor of the stage in the old auditorium. I was really close to the piece of wood flooring looking straight-on at it trying to get every detail of the wood. The next picture is of the walls in the old auditorium with the paint slightly peeling off the walls. The wall takes up the entire frame of the shot, I was a foot about away from the wall looking at it from the side, to get a different angle.
